At the University of Victoria, I began my journey in computer science, earning the International Entrance Scholarship and the CEI Employee Scholarship for my academic achievements. From the outset, I sought opportunities to combine technical rigor with product-focused problem solving, which led me to internships and projects where I could make tangible impact.

I am currently a Software Engineering Intern at Duplex, a Redbrick company building white-label content discovery and personalized news experiences for browsers, ISPs, and digital service providers. In this role, I am gaining hands-on experience contributing to production software systems through feature development, debugging, code quality, and collaborative engineering workflows.

In 2024, I joined Giftbit as a Software Engineering Intern, where I built full-stack features using TypeScript, React/Next.js, Go, and MySQL/PostgreSQL. I worked on scalable APIs supporting reward workflows for over 20,000 users, and developed custom UI components that streamlined user operations and reduced errors by 20%. My work on these projects was featured in industry publications such as Fintech.ca and GlobeNewswire, highlighting the practical impact of my contributions.

Before that, I worked at VertiGIS as a Quality Assurance Analyst Intern, where I improved automated and manual testing workflows and contributed to more stable releases across multiple products. This experience strengthened my understanding of software quality, version control, debugging, and Agile development practices.

Alongside my internships, I am building Kairos, a private autonomous trading platform focused on quantitative financial modeling, strategy simulation, and backtesting. The platform includes a custom backtesting engine, and I am now exploring AI-driven analysis of financial news, reports, and market sentiment as an additional layer on top of the quant models.

I also developed Drift, a secure money transfer platform using Plaid, Stytch, Go, PostgreSQL, Next.js, and React. Although development was paused due to Plaid product availability and banking integration limitations in Canada, the project strengthened my experience in fintech infrastructure, authentication, and secure financial workflows.

I have also co-founded and prototyped apps like REP, a nutritionist management platform, Múzika, a music discovery app leveraging Spotify’s recommendation API, and TrailAI, an AI-assisted note-taking platform that surfaces summaries, insights, highlights, and recaps from users’ notes. These projects allowed me to explore product strategy, user experience design, and team coordination while deepening my experience in full-stack development and AI-driven product workflows.

I am also actively learning how to use modern AI tools, including Claude, to accelerate development, improve system design, and strengthen my engineering workflow. I see AI-assisted development as a practical advantage for prototyping, debugging, documentation, and exploring complex technical ideas more efficiently.

Through these experiences, I have developed a versatile skill set spanning backend architecture, frontend development, product design, AI-assisted development, and scalable systems. I am currently seeking software engineering opportunities for May 2027 and beyond, including full-time roles, internships, new graduate programs, and other early-career pathways where I can contribute to meaningful, user-focused products.
