At the University of Victoria, I began my journey in computer science, earning the International Entrance Scholarship and the CEI Employee Scholarship for my academic achievements. From the outset, I sought opportunities to combine technical rigor with product-focused problem solving, which led me to internships and projects where I could make tangible impact.
In 2024, I joined Giftbit as a Software Engineering Intern, where I built full-stack features using TypeScript, React/Next.js, Go, and MySQL/PostgreSQL. I worked on scalable APIs supporting reward workflows for over 20,000 users, and developed custom UI components that streamlined user operations and reduced errors by 20%. My work on these projects was featured in industry publications such as Fintech.ca and GlobeNewswire, highlighting the practical impact of my contributions.
Earlier, I worked at VertiGIS as a Quality Assurance Analyst Intern, improving automated and manual testing pipelines and contributing to more stable releases across multiple products. This experience strengthened my understanding of software quality, version control, and Agile workflows.
Alongside my internships, I co-founded and prototyped apps like REP, a nutritionist management platform, Múzika, a music discovery app leveraging Spotify’s recommendation API, and TrailAI, a platform applying AI for outdoor trail recommendations. These projects allowed me to explore design, product strategy, and team coordination, while deepening my experience in full-stack development and user experience design.
Currently, I am building Drift, a secure money transfer platform. Using Plaid for banking connectivity and Stytch for modern authentication, I am architecting a Go/PostgreSQL backend with a Next.js/React frontend, applying Domain-Driven Design principles and real-time data synchronization to deliver a seamless user experience.
Through these experiences, I have developed a versatile skill set spanning backend architecture, frontend development, product design, and scalable systems. I am now seeking a 2026 summer internship to further grow as a software engineer and product innovator, translating technical expertise into meaningful, user-focused solutions.
